Clinton New Jersey – Road Trip Tales #17

June 29 – Voorhees State Park, New Jersey

Our last night on the road. It’s a pleasant park but quite small. We roasted chicken over a wood fire.

Leaving at 9:15 a.m., heading for Connecticut and home. Misty and foggy today.

4:45 p.m. Arrived home – Massachusetts. My sister is unpacking the car and I am eating! of course. And Mother is glad we are finally home safe and sound.

Editor’s Note: Such an adventure. Sixteen days on the road. Traveled through fifteen states, over 3,000 miles, through rain and fog and sun and mist. Met lovely people, saw wondrous sites, stayed in some really seedy motels and camped in some soggy state parks. But it was a blast and I might be persuaded to do it again… only this time with a better tent, a coffee pot, and a proper fry pan. Maybe next time we can do the northern route and visit Montana along the way. 🙂

I’m so glad that you made it home safe and sound. Mom’s cooking. Now that’s something to cross the country for (:
