Ah, sweet spring. It’s that time again. The buds are bursting forth, the earth springs to life, and my peeps are ready to pop in the microwave for another fabu extravaganza!
This year my sister is doing the honors of hosting the family, so my kitchen is free for all types of experiments. I’m planning on exploring new possibilities! Among them, Peeps A La Rum. What would happen if you drizzle a little Coconut Rum on a couple of peeps and then hit “high” power on the micro? I think it might just make a dandy dessert. And that’s my job today, to make dessert for tomorrow’s feast.
Now, you may ask, “Why don’t you just go to the market and buy a lovely Mrs. Smith apple pie, stick it in the oven, and enjoy!” But that’s too easy. I think a little experimenting with Peeps A La Vodka, Peeps A La Scotch, Peeps A La Cognac… is a far better use of my time. After all, it’s a rainy raw day, with no chance of golf and I don’t even have to do any high dusting to impress the visiting cousins. So I’m off to experiment.

I would NEVER waste good Scotch on Peeps! It should be consumed slowly over ice.
