…to match my frustration today.
I am in technological HELL! Been working for three days on a project that just can’t be fixed. I’ve got tech support on the line, tech articles open on my desk, self-help druids roaming in the woods behind the office!!!! And my hair falling out in patches… bright golden patches (just had my hair done… sigh.)
So what am I to do? Mercury is not in retrograde. My friend Karen checked for me…. but something is going wrong in the magical tehno universe somewhere behind those clouds…
I need to shout, to scream, to take a long walk off a short pier…. How did I get myself into this computer wizard thingy anyway?
I used to sit calmly at my drawing table, sketching lovely things, thinking lovely thoughts, and smelling roses, because I had time to stop and take it all in….
Now it’s just one long day at the keyboard, staring into an LCD screen, struggling with hidden computer chips and sim cards and ready to scahream!!!! because nothing works.
Of course, I do have this moment to write and complain, and tell you all about it, thanks to the wonder of it all. But is it worth it? Is the techno babble trade off and the melting of my mind into mush worth it????
I need to go play golf… belt a few balls around… and then belt one or two back. Sigh.
If you’re reading this, you too are a techie geek… at least you read blogs occasionally… what do you think? Are we all going mad?
I know exactly how you feel. I’ve had a lot of days like that, knowing that tragedy was just below the surface…. or in my case, above… just keep paddling Chap. You’ll get it fixed.
I get it! Totally! I had a week from hell as well…nothing to do with technology…just total frustration dealing with bureaucracy. I guess they are rather similar…complex layers of hidden obstructions. Who knows why its coming to a head now. Perhaps it is those out-of-control solar flares, or is there a Mars/Uranus aspect that is driving us over the edge? In any case, I have been screaming and pulling my hair out myself. Also, remembering Starhawk’s advise in such situations: “When in worry, when in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout, “Eek!, Eek!, Eek!”. It helps!
I Eek! along with you E.e.K!!!!
Oh, no, it can’t be, as you ARE my tech wizard. You can’t fall off the pedestal. I need you there. And, yes, we are all going mad. I totally sympathize with you, as I have to go back out into the crazy world of technology to buy a new PC and a new phone. I shall be even crazier than I already am :-(. Watch out world!
Oh, forgot to mention that I just love your green faced crazy pink lady…I can relate
Been there. It’s not fun. Hope you quickly resolve the issue.
