A cosmic moment. The earth turns, the sky lightens, the angels begin to hummmmmmmm and all is well with the world.
I’ve been back from Florida for almost two weeks and my tan is fading. Alas. Such is the passage of time. But time is all we have so I must grab it while I can, and on this most auspicious of days .. 12-12-12…. I am fully aware of how the time flies by.
This morning I stopped in the local grocery store to pick up a salad for lunch and a cup of coffee. Easy peasy. After shopping I was heading for the door when an old man came at me, pushing a grocery cart. I stepped right, he pushed left. I stepped left, he pushed right. We looked at each other and realized we were both trying to get out of each other’s way but were actually working against it all succeeding. Suddenly he pushed left, stepped up on the lower rug of the cart and pushed himself gleefully passed me and down the store aisle, as much like a little boy as he might have been seventy years ago!
It might not seem like much, but this old fellow was clearly ignoring the passage of time.Good thing he didn’t fall off the wagon and crack his skull, you may ask?
Well, I say good for him. Ta dah! and tra lah!
May I still jump on a wagon and fly when I get to be his age.
Just me saying.
Seventy is not that old. I am sure you will agree in a few years.
My body is beginning to creak even now. You are probably correct. When I was 19 I thought 25 was ancient. Age is relative I guess.
One day at a time!
